Four resin families — what each is for

General purpose (Standard)

Grey, White, Black and Clear resins for accurate prototypes with fine detail and thin walls. The V5 resins for Form 4 print faster and do not require post-curing; Draft V2 prints 3–4× faster for concept models, and Fast Model Resin is aimed at high-throughput model production.

Engineering

Functional parts that imitate production plastics: Tough (ABS-like, impact- and wear-resistant), Tough 1000 (HDPE-like), Durable (PP-like), glass-filled Rigid 4000 for jigs and housings, High Temp with 238 °C HDT for moulds and heat shields, plus Flexible 80A, Elastic 50A and Silicone 40A for gaskets, seals and soft-touch surfaces.

Dental and medical (biocompatible)

Dental resins for splints, whitening trays, temporary crowns and bridges, surgical guides and denture teeth. BioMed resins (Amber, Clear, Durable, Flex 80A) are for instruments, training models, fixtures, housings that need fluid visibility and parts that withstand repeated sterilization; BioMed Amber, Clear and Durable are ISO 10993 materials.

Casting

Castable Wax, True Cast and Clear Cast for lost-wax investment casting in jewelry and dental work: wax-like resins that burn out without residue, with detail down to 25 µm.

Which resin should I choose for functional parts?

For impact and mechanical loads — Tough (ABS-like); for elastic parts and rubber imitation — Flexible; for casting — Castable Wax; for medicine and dentistry — the biocompatible Dental and BioMed resins. Describe the part's application and we will recommend a resin for your task.

What accuracy and surface quality does SLA printing give?

Accuracy down to ±0.05 mm, minimum wall thickness 0.3 mm, layer thickness from 25 µm. The surface is much smoother than FDM, with almost no visible layers — which is why SLA is chosen for master patterns, dentistry and detailed prototypes.

Which dental resins are available for Form 4B?

Are the Formlabs resins fresh and genuine?

Yes. As an authorized dealer we supply only original cartridges from the Formlabs factory, with an RFID chip for authenticity verification. Minimum shelf life is 12 months from shipment. Storage at 18–22 °C.
